Our mission is to provide a platform for all DesiParents (expecting or otherwise) to share, learn, discover and connect.

Parvarish.com is an online community for South Asians expecting parents, parents and grand parents (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan) that gives them a platform to share, learn, discover and connect with each other.  It is totally free to join the community and be a part of it.

There is a whole slew of activities you can get envolved in on Parvarish. Create a group of your interests and invite your friends and family to join it. Share your pictures and videos with other DesiParents.  Ask a question in our community Forums.  Share a recipe that your kids love with others. Learn Riti Riwaz (Customs) practiced by other DesiParents and Share yours. Connect with other DesiParents and Discover how other DesiParents handle situations which you might also find yourself in. 

I have been keeping busy with my day time job and other misc. stuff (like I bought a new house and moved into this new house...) so have been unable to put time to this project of mine. I have now updated the version on the website to IndicJoomla! 1.0.12 and counterpart upgrade from indicJoomla! 1.0.11. Separate language pack is also available if you are using Joomla! instead of IndicJoomla!.

At JoomlaCode.org, you can also download following Language Packs contributed by volunteers:

All existing IndicJoomla! users MUST UPGRADE to this version, due to several High Level vulnerabilities that affect ALL Previous versions of Joomla! 

1.0.11 contains the following critical security fixes:

• 04 High Level Security Fixes
• 04 Medium Level Security Fixes
• 18 Low Level security
  
• 25 General bug fixes

If you are using ANY previous version of Joomla!, you need to upgrade to 1.0.11 as soon as possible.

Project IndicJoomla! is and has always been fully committed to a Security First Principle and new intiatives have and will continue to be started to reinforce and continue this principle.  Joomla! 1.0.11 highlights a redoubled effort to put Security at the forefront of everyones lexicon.

Like any and all software, security is a continually evolving and constant battle between application developers and hackers.  The increased security threats discovered in the Joomla!Universe indicate nothing more than an increasing usuage of Joomla! throughout the world and thus an increasing interest from hackers. 

It does however serve to remind everyone, both application developers and application users that Security is an eternal vigil and one cannot rest.

With this new design comes a host of new features and content to better serve our loyal visitors.  Aside from regular news coming out of the Devi Mandir, there is now a new section dedicated to Hinduism, bringing to you the newest in feature articles and recent headlines related to Hinduism! A new graphic layout that incorporates richer and brighter colours, this new website will enable visitors to better see in a quick glance what is new at the Devi Mandir as well as recent news in Hinduism!

Some new features include: 

• The ability to email feature articles to your friends and family.
• An updated Religious Calendar that has a description for each religious holiday.
• A section dedicated solely to Hinduism where you can browse through recent headlines and feature articles on Hinduism.
• Content added regularly so make sure to visit often!!
